The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
