This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him, warn your closest relatives. 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
