Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
