The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
