The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
