Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And cups set at hand. 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
