The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount, 1 and the Book inscribed 2 On a parchment scroll unrolled, 3 by the established House (Mecca), 4 And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven). 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 and the mountains will move with [an awesome] movement. 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this magic, or is it that you do not see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 The pious will live in bountiful Paradise, 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
