The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
