The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
