The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
