۞ [And God will thus command:] "Assemble all those who were bent on evildoing, together with others of their ilk and [with] all that they were wont to worship 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In gardens of delight, 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Are we then not to die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
