Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and the smooth runners 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
