The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man. 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
