Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
