We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
