In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 separating one from another, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
