The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise, and warn. 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 And your clothing purify 4 And banish all trepidation. 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me and him whom I created alone, 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 So accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then he looked, 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 This is naught else than speech of mortal man. 25 [Hence,] I shall cause him to endure hell-fire [in the life to come]! 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
