Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher. 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 in towering columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
