۞ Verily God has enjoined justice, the doing of good, and the giving of gifts to your relatives; and forbidden indecency, impropriety and oppression. He warns you so that you may remember. 90 And fulfill the Covenant of Allah (Bai'a: pledge for Islam) when you have covenanted, and break not the oaths after you have confirmed them, and indeed you have appointed Allah your surety. Verily! Allah knows what you do. 91 Do not, like the woman who unravels her yarn after its strands have been firmly spun, use your oaths as a means of deceiving one another, just because one community could become bigger than another. God is only testing you by means of this. On the Day of Resurrection He will make it clear to you what you differed about. 92 And if Allah had willed, He could have made you [of] one religion, but He causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And you will surely be questioned about what you used to do. 93 And do not make your oaths phoney excuses between yourselves, so that a foot may not slip after being steadfast and you may taste evil because you were preventing from Allah’s way; and lest you be severely punished. 94 Nor sell the covenant of Allah for a miserable price: for with Allah is (a prize) far better for you, if ye only knew. 95 For what you possess will pass, but what is with God will abide. We shall certainly award those who persevere a recompense in keeping with their deeds. 96 Whosoever doeth right, whether male or female, and is a believer, him verily we shall quicken with good life, and We shall pay them a recompense in proportion to the best of what they used to do. 97 So when you recite the Quran, seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaitan, 98 he has no authority over those who believe and trust in their Lord; 99 Satan’s power is only over those who make friendship with him and ascribe him as a partner (in worship). 100
