Indeed, We created the human. We know the whisperings of his soul, and are closer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When both receivers (the angels) receive, one on his right, the other on his left, 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 Each soul will come with a driver and a witness. 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 His companion said: “Here is he who was in my charge.” 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 who has set up another deity beside God: cast him, then, cast him into suffering severe!" 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
