Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 Generous and recording, 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
