Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 And the producers of sparks [when] striking 2 rushing to assault at morn, 3 blazing a trail of dust, 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord 6 And indeed, he is to that a witness. 7 And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 And there shall be brought to light that which is in the breasts? 10 Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
