Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
A. L. M. 1 (This is) the Revelation of the Book in which there is no doubt,- from the Lord of the Worlds. 2 What! They dare say that, “He has fabricated it”? In fact it is the Truth from your Lord, in order that you warn a nation towards whom no Herald of Warning came before you, in the hope of their attaining guidance. 3 It was God who created the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in between in six Days, and then He established Himself on the throne. You have no patron nor any intercessor besides Him. So will you not pay heed? 4 He directs the affair from heaven to earth, then it goes up to Him in one day, whose measure is a thousand years of your counting. 5 That is He, the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen, the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 6 Who made all things He created excellent; and first fashioned man from clay, 7 Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained. 8 But He fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him something of His spirit. And He gave you (the faculties of) hearing and sight and feeling (and understanding): little thanks do ye give! 9 And they say: When we are lost in the earth, how can we then be re-created? Nay but they are disbelievers in the meeting with their Lord. 10 ۞ Say: "The angel of death appointed over you will take away your soul, then you will be sent back to your Lord." 11
