3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
