Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
