The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
