The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Verily your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 (Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 Is it ever possible that after we die and are reduced to dust and (a skeleton of) bones, we will be raised to life? 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)." 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 “This is the Day of Judgement, which you used to deny!” 21
