A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 [O men!] Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and follow no masters other than Him. Little are you admonished. 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 No cry did they utter when Our Torment came upon them but this: "Verily, we were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)". 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 The balance that day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper: 8 and those whose scales are light will be the losers, for they, are the ones who have been unjust to Our signs. 9 And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. 10
