The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif Lam Ra. Those are the signs of the Book and of a manifest Koran. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 Leave them to eat and enjoy, and for aspiration to involve them in play – so they will shortly come to know. 3 And never did We destroy a town but it had a term made known. 4 No group may advance its appointed promise nor postpone it. 5 And they say: O thou unto whom the Reminder is revealed, lo! thou art indeed a madman! 6 Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful?" 7 We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved. 8 Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian. 9 Indeed, We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad SAW) amongst the sects (communities) of old. 10 And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him. 11 Even so We make a way for it (that is, the Admonition) in the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod); 12 So, they will not believe in it: The example of former people is there. 13 Even if We open a door in the heavens and they ascend through it in broad daylight, 14 yet would they say, 'Our eyes have been dazzled; nay, we are a people bewitched!' 15
