The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
