The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
