Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 He will be roasted in the fire, 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
