۞ And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Ibrahim his rectitude aforetime, and him We had ever known. 51 when he said to his father and his people, 'What are these statues unto which you are cleaving?' 52 They replied: 'We found our fathers worshipping them' 53 He said, 'Then assuredly you and your fathers have been in manifest error.' 54 They asked: "Hast thou come unto us [with this claim] in all earnest - or art thou one of those jesters?" 55 He said, 'Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who originated them, and I am one of those that bear witness thereunto. 56 And [I swear] by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away." 57 He shattered them all, except the biggest among them, that perhaps they may question it. 58 "Who has done this to our deities? He must be a wrongdoer." 59 They said, 'We heard a young man making mention of them, and he was called Abraham.' 60 They said, “Therefore bring him in front of the people, perhaps they may testify.” 61 They said: art thou the one who hath wrought this unto our gods, O Ibrahim? 62 He said, "Rather, this - the largest of them - did it, so ask them, if they should [be able to] speak." 63 So they turned towards their own selves and (inwardly) said, “Indeed you yourselves are unjust.” 64 Then they turned to themselves (their first thought and said): "Indeed you [Ibrahim (Abraham)] know well that these (idols) speak not!" 65 (So Abraham) said: "Then why do you worship something apart from God that cannot profit you or do you harm? 66 Fie upon you and upon all that you worship beside Allah. Do you have no sense?" 67 They cried: Burn him and stand by your gods, if ye will be doing. 68 We said, "O Fire! be thou cool, and (a means of) safety for Abraham!" 69 and whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We caused them to suffer the greatest loss: 70 And We rescued him and Lout (Lot) to the land which We have blessed for the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 71 We granted him Isaac and Jacob as a gift and helped both of them to become righteous people. 72 And We made them leaders to guide (the people) by Our command; and We inspired them to perform good deeds and observe their moral obligations and pay the zakat; and they obeyed Us. 73 To Lot We gave wisdom and knowledge and delivered him from the city which practiced abomination. They were indeed a wicked people. 74 And We admitted him to Our Mercy: for he was one of the Righteous. 75

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
