Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
