3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
