The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
