The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
