99 verses, revealed in Mecca after Joseph (Yousuf) before Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ AlifLaamRa. Those are the verses of the Book, the Clear Koran. 1 It may be that those who disbelieve wish ardently that they were Muslims. 2 Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know! 3 Whenever We destroyed a town, a definite term had previously been decreed for it. 4 No group may advance its appointed promise nor postpone it. 5 And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad. 6 Why do you not bring down the angels if what you say is true". 7 We send not the angels down save with judgment, and then they would not be respited. 8 Surely We have revealed the Reminder and We will most surely be its guardian. 9 We did send messengers before thee amongst the religious sects of old: 10 And never came a Messenger to them but they did mock him. 11 Even so do We [now] cause this [scorn of Our message] to pervade the hearts of those who are lost in sin, 12 That they should not believe in the (Message); but the ways of the ancients have passed away. 13 And if We open for them a gate in the heavens, to ascend it through the day – 14 They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic." 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
