Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
A. L. M. 1 There is no doubt that this Book is revealed by the Lord of the Universe. 2 Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, [O Muhammad], that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you [so] perhaps they will be guided. 3 Allah it is Who created the heavens and the earth, and that which is between them, in six Days. Then He mounted the Throne. Ye have not, beside Him, a protecting friend or mediator. Will ye not then remember? 4 He directs the affair from heaven to earth. Then it will ascend to Him in one day, a day whose value is a thousand years by your reckoning. 5 This is the All Knowing – of all the hidden and the visible, the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 6 who gave everything its perfect form. He originated the creation of man from clay, 7 And made his progeny from a quintessence of the nature of a fluid despised: 8 Then He created him and (caused the angel to) breathe into him his (created) spirit. He gave you eyes and ears, and hearts, yet little do you thank. 9 And they say: What! when we have become lost in the earth, shall we then certainly be in a new creation? Nay! they are disbelievers in the meeting of their Lord. 10 ۞ (Muhammad), say, "The angel of death, who is appointed over everyone of you, will cause you to die and to your Lord you will all return." 11
