The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
