Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 and let him share my task 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 and may remember You much. 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 Your sister went to them and said, "May I show you someone who will nurse this child?" We returned you to your mother to make her rejoice and forget her grief. You slew a man and We saved you from trouble. We tried you through various trials. Then you stayed some years with the people of Midian (Shu'ayb and his family) and after that you came back to Egypt as was ordained. 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
