Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
