I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
