The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
