The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Star when it plunges, 1 This fellow-man of yours has not gone astray, nor is he deluded, 2 And he does not say anything by his own desire. 3 This is nothing but a revelation that is conveyed to him, 4 Taught to him by one intense in strength - 5 One vigorous; and he grew clear to view 6 While he was in the highest part of the horizon: 7 Then he approached and came closer, 8 So he was the measure of two bows or closer still. 9 Thus He revealed unto His bondman whatsoever He revealed. 10 The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. 11 what, will you dispute with him what he sees? 12 And he certainly saw him in another descent 13 to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) 14 near which is Paradise. 15 with the lote-tree veiled in a veil of nameless splendour 16 The sight turned not aside, nor it exceeded. 17 for indeed he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 So did you observe the idols Lat and Uzza? 19 And Manat, the third - the other one? 20 Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? 21 Then that is surely a very unjust distribution! 22 these are nothing but names which you yourselves have devised, you and your forefathers. God has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord! 23 Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after? 24 But it is to God that the Hereafter and this world belong. 25
