The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)! 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 and defilement flee! 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me and him whom I created alone, 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And made things easy for them. 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 Scorching the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
