Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
