Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 Till a limit known? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
