The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 you pay attention 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
