Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
